Apostille and consular legalisation of documents, advice in Nizhny Novgorod

A Russian diploma, certificate or power of attorney will not simply be accepted abroad. The document has to be legalised. In Hague Convention countries an apostille is enough, the rest need consular legalisation. We work out the order of steps for your country, translate the document and tell you which window to go to for the stamp.

What to send

  • Which document and for which country
  • A scan of the document

A scan or a phone photo will do: on WhatsApp, Max, by email to galastt@mail.ru, or bring it to the office.

When you need a notary

The apostille is put on the original by the issuing authority, or on a notarised copy by the Ministry of Justice. The translation made after the apostille is notarised.

Certification with the agency stamp is free, notarisation is 1200 ₽ per document.

Why documents get returned

We double-check these spots. If the inspector's remark concerns our work, we fix it free of charge the same day.

  • The apostille was issued before the translation, but the country requires an apostille on the translation
  • An apostille was issued for a country outside the Hague Convention instead of consular legalisation

Questions

Do you issue apostilles yourselves?

Apostilles are issued by government bodies, not by translation agencies. We prepare the translation and set out the route so you can walk it once.

Which countries are in the Hague Convention?

More than 120 countries, including China, India, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and all EU countries. Egypt, Iraq, the UAE and Vietnam are not members: for them you need consular legalisation.
